ARC 2023 Poster Competition Guidelines
- All computing or data-enable research is welcome. The research does not need to be COVID-19 related.
- Submit your poster title and abstract by April 14 to bgc14@pitt.edu.
- University of Pittsburgh graduate and undergraduate students are eligible for two $750 travel prizes.
- Pitt post-docs are invited to submit but are not eligible for prize money.
- Students from other institutions are invited to submit, but are not eligible for prize money.
- Posters are to be formatted as 36"x48"
- Poster boards and easels will be available at the symposium.
- The contest begins Friday, April 21 at 3:40 pm. Please arrive to set up after 2:30 pm.
- Signs in the University Club will direct you to the venue.
Posters will be judged according to these criteria:
Visual
- Graphics aren’t pixelated screenshots
- The font is clearly legible
- The poster maintains a balance between graphics and text
Oral
- The explanation is given in a logical order
- The presenter is excited about their research
- The presenter motivates and rationalizes their results clearly with emphasis on the use of advanced computing
Impact
- Presenter understands why their work is novel
- Presenter understands why their work is important
- Presenter understands what future work needs to be done
Questions and Answers
- Follow up questions were answered clearly and concisely
