Become an H2P Owner

Through the Community-Owned Research Computing and Data Infrastructure model, you can become condominium (condo) owners within the CRCD clusters. 

Ownership Model

Become a condominium owner within the CRCD clusters and gain highest-priority access to resources proportional to your investment. Owner-dedicated resources function like locally managed systems, with idle cycles contributing to a shared community pool. Non-owner jobs in the pool are preempted by owner jobs when needed.

Server Ownership Details

  • Hardware Lifecycle: Servers come with a 5-year warranty and can remain operational for up to 7 years if functional during the out of warranty period.

  • Hardware Retirement: After 7 years, owners will be notified and given 2 weeks to reclaim their hardware. Unclaimed servers will be retired via University Surplus.
