Fall 2018 Workshops - Sept. 13
Cluster Training

Shervin Sammak, PhD, Research Assistant Professor and CRC Consultant, presented Pitt CRC's annual cluster training workshop to go over new hardware, modules, and queuing system, as well as strategies around queuing, scratch space; exit codes. A second session of this workshop will be presented Tuesday, Sept. 25, 1-4 pm in Benedum 102. Register at https://crc.pitt.edu/fall18workshop. If you don't have an account on CRC, you must first apply for one at crc.pitt.edu/apply. Please bring your own laptop.Remember, each attendee who fills out a post-workshop survey receives a free Pitt CRC T-shirt!

Wednesday February 15th This workshop is meant as a primer for the Hybrid OpenMP/MPI Workshop. It will not be able to cover everything, but using this workshop, as well as some practice, you should become prepared for future high level workshops on parallel programming..


Spring 2018 Workshops - Hybrid OpenMP/MPI programming

Monday-Wednesday-Friday March 13th, 15th and 17th This workshop is a lively, 3-day interaction on high performance computing. It is intended to give C and Fortran programmers a hands-on introduction to OpenMP, MPI and hybrid OpenMP/MPI programming. On the first day, we give an introduction to OpenMP. Second day is dedicated to MPI and on the third day, we touch on hybrid OpenMP/MPI programming. All three days are packed with useful information and lab exercises. Attendees will leave with a working knowledge of how to write scalable codes.


Spring 2018 Workshops - CUDA

Wednesday April 12th Get a hands on experience parallelizing codes over massively parallel GPUs using the CUDA framework. Some C programming experience required as a prerequisite.
